Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy got injured against Manchester City. He has been ruled out for three months after undergoing surgery on the ankle.
The Frenchman was stretchered off nine minutes at the Emirates Stadium. His left ankle got damaged when landing awkwardly.
The 29-year-old represented his country in this summer’s 2014 Brazil World Cup finals. He was playing only his fourth Premier League match for the Gunners. Mathieu Debuchy was transferred from Newcastle in July for £12million previously.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the press-
“He has had surgery and will be out for three months. Though a reasonable delay, may be a week or two earlier, but it will be around three months”
Of course it’s a blow for Arsenal. Probably only Arsenal knows how big the problem is. It will totally depend on how well they are planning for his replacement.
