They set out to chase the sun from California through to Hawaii, Australia, Africa and New Zealand. Some of it may looks a bit dated.

The PC crowd could have a field day with the gang’s trip to Africa. The Endless Summer defines what a cool sportsman looked like for a generation. We have selected this amazing sports documentary for the 6th place in our list of top 10 best sports documentaries of all time.

DeMar DeRozan Wants To Re-Sign With Raptors

DeMar DeRozan will certainly become a free agent this season in NBA as his contract span is over. Now in this situation, he decides to stay with the Toronto Raptors.

DeRozan told to the reporters that,

“ I’m very much in love to the team and the organization. I think all my fans understand that. I’ve always stressed that this is where I want to be my whole career.”

He was the 9th overall pick in the NBA Draft of 2009 season. On July 9, he signed his contract with the Toronto Raptors. In the 2010 Sprite Slam Dunk Competition, DeRozan lost against three-time champion Nate Robinson in the final round. Then in 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk competition, he placed 3rd. DeRozan scored his career high 37 points against the Houston Rockets in 2010. The equaled his career high two more times against Utah Jazz in 2012 and against Chicago Bulls in 2013. He is appearing to be one of the best young potentials in NBA.

The Toronto Shooting Guard is an asset for them since his enrollment. He also mentioned that since the beginning, he has been so prideful of the city and the country. He has spent six long years with the Raptors. Therefore, he has not got any desire to leave the team in near future.

DeRozan’s contract with the Raptors contains a $10 million player option for this season. He declined the option of that contract and made himself an unrestricted free agent. Hopefully, it will be the first choice for DeRozan to stay in Toronto with a franchise that’s grown close to him. He has been staying with the Raptors longer than anyone and there is hardly anyone who has stressed being a Toronto Raptor more than DeRozan. However, his teammate Terrence Ross is about to make a $33 million contract extension with the Raptors. Ross and DeRozan have a known chemistry within the team and they want to continue to build on. DeRozan is very keen to be with his other teammates too. The 26-year-old would like to find himself with no shortage of suitors and that means his price should be higher enough to keep him. The salary for DeRozan is estimated to be $25 million annually. As he will be unrestricted, the Toronto Raptors have the advantage to offer him a five-year contract as opposed to four years from the other suitors in NBA.

But, there are some downsides of re-signing DeRozan as it would tie up most of their flexibility and keeping an old player in an expensive contract. But, it is true that, DeRozan for all his abilities and devotion for Toronto, remains as a largely efficient scorer for the Raptors. Re-signing DeRozan for something close to the maximum would also cement a decent roster with Kyle Lowry, DeMarre Carroll, Cory Joseph, Jonas Valanciunas and aforementioned Terrence Ross. The Raptor have budgeted $83.1 million guaranteed contract for the 2016-17 season. It is quite obvious that, if they re-sign DeRozan to the max, they will have no cap room for the next summer.
