The Liverpool star Luis Suarez transfers to Barcelona when Liverpool officials have given the first indication that Suarez’s future lies away from Anfield by opening a talk to Barca.

Although the Uruguay international has banned for four months from all football related activities, the Spanish club have not been deterred in their pursuit of him. It has been notable that Suarez was awarded the banishment for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup. A delegation led by Barcelona’s director of football management, Raul Sanllehi, have already met Liverpool’s chief executive, Ian Ayre, in London for recruiting Luis Suarez by negotiation.

In order to transfer Suarez a club should meet a release-clause of around £80m that was included in the £200,000 per week contract Suarez signed in last December. Though it was a third time since Suarez bit an opponent in three years, Liverpool’s valuation has not altered. However, Ian Ayre puts his interest in the Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez.

If the Chile international moves to Anfield, he would be valued in the £30m region by Barcelona. The Catalans are much more keen for the courtship of the Premier League leading goal scorer, Luis Suarez.

With the influence of Barcelona, Suarez may go to public with an apology for biting Chiellini amid concerns over how his prospective transfer would be received. Six days after the incident on Monday, the apology and U-turn from Suarez duly followed via social media. The Barca employees were fulsome in their praise of Suarez’s action.

Barcelona’s Sporting director, Andoni Zubizarreta speaks at unveiling of the midfielder Ivan Rakitic,

“ Luis Suarez is humble enough to admit an error. In this case it’s the best thing a person can do”

The former Barcelona and Spain goalkeeper added ,

”Everyone knows last season he played in various positions in attack, but everyone also knows that he is a Liverpool player and he is an excellent player indeed.”

Ivan Rakitic also commented by saluting Suarez character and strength

“ Suarez has the necessary quality to play for Barca”

Meanwhile, Liverpool will attempt to develop their defence following the £25m signing of Adam Lallana. The English midfielder Lallana joins his former Southhampton team-mate Rickie Lambert and the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can,£4.5m and £9.85m deals respectively.

Liverpool manager’s leading central defensive target is Croatia international Lovren. The manager is believed to be keen on a move to Merseyside despite rival interest from Tottenham Hotspur, the club which is currently led by the former Southampton coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Liverpool supporters will recall Suarez’s finer moments in the club , the hat-tricks, stunning goals, individual skill while he becomes free to undergo the medical for Barcelona. The Suarez transfer news is not a gossip anymore. The legend Kop banner was inspired by Suarez saying,

“Luis Suarez can nutmeg a mermaid’.

In reaction to Suarez transfer news others will also recall one of the final images of Luis Suarez when he ushered off the pitch at Selhurst Park by Captain Steven Gerrrd, his face covered to his tears.

Carlos Dunga returns: Can he succeed this time?

Carlos Dunga is officially taking the responsibility as a manager of Brazilian national team again after previous four-year stint leading up to the World Cup 2010. Dunga replaces Scolari, who watched over a meltdown during the final rounds of the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

Carlos Dunga will lead Brazil from now—–image via: www1.skysports.com

Carlos Dunga having no prior managerial experience took the charge in 2006. As a longtime Brazilian midfielder he had enjoyed enough success at both the club and international levels. Hence he has given Brazil enough confidence to lead the national team.

When Carlos Dunga led Brazil:

Dunga had a pretty good history for most of his tenure. In 2007 Copa America Dunga led the side to Championships as well as the 2009 confederations Cup. He ensured the Brazil squad qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

But alas! At the football’s biggest stage in 2010 World Cup he was not able to deliver his outmost as the Netherlands eliminated Brazil in the quarterfinals. It marked the end of his first stint as manager.

Scolari made it worse!!!

The story changes following a disappointing finish by the Scolari-led squad on home soil. Although the team made it to the semifinals, in the match against Germany they were shockingly routed by 7-1 defeat and then losing the third place match by 3-0 against the Netherlands.

Brazil drowned in the sea of tears—–image via: www.telegraph.co.uk

After this unexpected 10-1 cumulative defeat, Scolari found the exit door, the man who led Brazil to the World Cup title in 2002.

And now it’s the return of Carlos Dunga.

For Brazil it’s a risky hire to assign Dunga obviously as he had only one managerial job between his two stays with the Selecao. It featured limited success for him at the international levels. It appears far from a guarantee that Dunga will be able to get the Brazilian national team back on track.

Putting aside all dispute, it is notable that Dunga was with the side during some of its peak years and he clearly understands what it takes to win at the highest levels. His main task will be creating the same sense of determination and belief within the current team.

Carlos Dunga, the Captain of the winners:

Carlos Dunga was always fueled by anger. He is the one captain, winning World Cup in history who transformed the act of lifting World Cup trophy from one of celebration to one of revenge. After USA’94, he held aloft the cup pouring his contempt for those who had doubted him and his team.

dunga's world cup, carlos dunga,1994 world cup captain

As a player, even as a World Cup winning team captain, he contributed at his best. But it is quite another thing in the position of coach. During the 2010 campaign it was clear that Dunga was entirely out of his emotional depth. In one press conference after match he even tangled with an entirely inoffensive Brazilian Journalist.

The controversies:

It was clear that he was unable to control himself that time. Then how could control a national team like Brazil? Was it really a surprise when the team suffered an emotional collapse in the second half against the Netherlands while Carlos Dunga, the future coach lost his temper on the sidelines?

Probably, now the time for those to shed tears who hoped for something more idealistic from the country seen by many as the spiritual guardian of the holy game of football for the Brazilian.

The Brazilian Football Confederation undoubtedly believes that Dunga is the right man for this holy job. The Brazilian supporters won’t have much patience after the disappointment, so here quick progress is eagerly expected.

Captain Steven Gerrard Announces His Retirement From England National Team

After playing 14 years with the Three Lions, Steven Gerrard has announced his retirement from international football.

The announcement comes almost a month after England national team’s poor performance in the World Cup 2014 Brazil. Gerrard captained the English side while they knocked out at the group stage of this tournament.

The 34-year-old reflected on his lengthy international career,

” I have enjoyed every minute of representing my country and it is a sad day for me knowing that I won’t pull on the England shirt again. However, I do look forward to continuing my strong relationship with The FA and helping out in any way I can going forward.”

Gerrard’s current club Liverpool just missed out on their first title in the English Premier League top flight since 1990 as they came second to Manchester City, last season. As a result, they are going to take part in the Champions League for the first time since 2009-10.

Current England coach Roy Hodgson had previously stated his desire for Steven Gerrard to continue his role as captain until 2016 Euro championship. Hearing Gerrard’s decision he expressed his disappointment,

“While I’m disappointed in his decision, I can entirely understand Steven’s situation and can have no complaints given the great service he has given to his country”.

Steven Gerrard in his golden career:

Steven Gerrard made his debut for England in 2000 at Wembley stadium against Ukraine. Since then he accumulated 114 caps for England and netted 21 goals. Since then Gerrard represented the country at 2000, 2004 and 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. He also played his role as the captain of England side 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup. Steven Gerrard became the sixth English player to win 100 caps for England in 2012.

Steven Gerrard has been described as one of the greatest midfielders in the history of English football. He is a real leader and a tireless runner with a superb vision. In 2005, he was honoured as the UEFA Club footballer of the year and won Bronze of FIFA Ballon D’Or. Gerrard is the only footballer ever in the football history to score a goal in a League Cup final and an FA Cup final and a Champions League final and a UEFA Cup final.

Steven Gerrard, who has spent his entire career with Liverpool after making his debut in 1998. He was named as team captain in 2003. His honours at Anfield include three League Cups, two FA Cups, two community Shields, one Champions League, two Super Cups and one UEFA Cup.

The French great Zinedine Zidane considered Steven Gerrard as the best footballer of the world.

Who will be his replacement???

The question now is who will be his replacement??? It will be a great task for the guys who will replace both personally in the center of the midfield and as captain. For the deep-lying midfielder role Roy Hodgson may look for Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Gerrard’s Liverpool teammate Jordan Henderson.

Roy Hodgson is probably planning to shape a young-looking side. So the vastly experienced Wayne Rooney is likely to be considered as captain as will Joe Hart and Gary Cahill.

Steven Gerrard, the legend of ‘Golden Age’

The legendary midfielder Steven Gerrard leaves without any medals for England side, but he has a plenty of memories with his team. In the mid 2000s, English football was supposed to be ‘the Golden Age’ and Gerrard is one of the last standing members. In many ways, his retirement represents the end of and era for England.

Steven Gerrard said about his decision,

“This has been a very tough decision, one of the toughest I’ve had to make in my career. I have agonised over this since coming back from Brazil and have spoken to friends and family and people close to me in the game before coming to this point.”

However, he wishes to prolong his career at Anfield. With Liverpool attaining Champions League title for the first time since 2009/10 season, his club calendar will be as stressful as it has been ever before.

Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Angel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado

According to a Spanish press Manchester United are targeting Angel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado for the upcoming season.

Mundo Deportivo claims Manchester United are ready to trump FC Barcelona for Cuadrado’s signature offering €38 million-which equates to approximately £30 million!

Juan Cuadrado appears as one of the Colombia’s World Cup stars. Likely he is widely expected to move during this summer season. His versatility is a huge draw for teams aside his flying pace. He drew the attention to most of the renowned Clubs who are currently looking to strengthen a number of positions quickly. Both Manchester United and Barcelona are currently working on rebuilds after disappointing last season and may see Juan Cuadrado as a ready-made solution to their problem in the right flank position.

Under the Dutch coach, Louis Van Gaal, Manchester United are starting to improve their attacking style as the Red Devils scored 10 goals in two preseason games so far. Van Gaal has favoured three centre-backs during the club’s tour of US. Luke shaw and Antonio Valencia were acting as wing-backs. Juan Cuadrado is a kind of such a natural winger who can effectively fill in at right back. Probably, that’s why he is in the eyes of Van Gaal.

His necessity is likely to be equal at Nou Camp too. In Barcelona Cuadrado would likely be used on the right side of midfield, presuming Dani Alves remains with the club. Although Barcelona have the added draw of Champions League, Manchester United can likely afford to offer Fiorentina more money and Juan Cuadrado a better wage. Cuadrado’s future may come down to preference if the two giants go head-to-head.

Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria could be an alternative in Manchester United’s hunt. The Argentine possesses a different kind of versatility-he can play on either wing, in central midfield or behind the striker. He has made himself an attractive prospect after Argentina’s run to the World Cup 2014 final in Brazil.

With Los Blancos, Di Maria posted an excellent season. However, he never really hit top gear before getting injured in Brazil. It is obvious that his speed, energy and dribbling skils inject urgency into Madrid’s play. That’s why his potential exit will be discussed so seriously.

Amid the talk of his transfer, Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Di Maria will return to the training camp soon. The Italian boss ensured,

” Angel Di Maria has just finished the World Cup, he resting on holiday and he will return to Valdebebas on 5th August.”

On the other hand, Louis Van Gaal certainly has some glaring gaps in his squad. The United supporters are likely to be panicked as United’s first competitive fixture of the Premier League season is rapidly approaching on 16th August. But there is no denying that plenty of transfer action will be coming at Old Trafford.

Both Angel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado offer multi-faceted styles that would certainly bring sheer pace to Manchester United’s game. Under David Moyes, it is acknowledgeable that invention and energy were lacked in Old Trafford. Both of them can be obtained by the aforementioned stars.

United supporters will certainly be pleased with the rampant start to life under Louis Van Gaal. This means nothing if the united squad is unable to compete once the real game begin. With a traditional United side, many names will continue to be linked that should be looking to make a fast impact once the new Premier season is underway.

Brazil Vs Colombia: Neymar Jr. is out of the world cup with the broken back

The moment of agony: image via: www.independent.co.uk

The newspapers on 5th July said it all. On Friday night, The host Brazil may have reached the semi-final beating Columbia, but the full cost of their quarter-final victory was being counted. Neymar Jr, the 22 year old super star of this world tournament, the player has kept the weight of Brazilian expectation with calm and some extraordinary good grace, is out of the world cup with a fractured vertebra.

It put thousands of football fans in mourning while watching a newsstand to see image after image of Neymar in agony, being stretchered off the pitch. As Neymar departed down the tunnel, a hush of agony fell over the Fortaleza Stadium as well as over the fan parks across Brazil. The news on O Tempo said that Brazil won the game but lost his star. The Lance demanded in their front page,

“ Play for him”.

“The World Cup was Neymar’s dream and for years he has been thinking about it”,

Neymar’s friend and agent Wagner Ribeiro said.

Neymar was flown to Galeao air base, Rio de Janeiro after the match. Then he was taken by ambulance to Grange Comay Hospital in Teresopolis, the Brazil training base. Outside the hospital, hundreds of fans gathered holding the banners saying “ Forca Neymar”. The phrase also trended on Twitter by Brazil’s 1970 World Cup winning Captain Carlos Alberto Torres. Now, all Brazil is with Neymar with a hope of his recovery and return to the pitch soon.

There was a burst of anger among the fans alongside the sadness and the realization of what this might mean to Brazil in winning the world cup on home soil. The headline of Extra said it all,

“ COVARDIA-cowardice.”

The match possessed 54 fouls in total, more than in any other game at this World Cup. However, 31 of them were committed by Brazil. Rotating the offender to avoid cards, tactical fouling, have been the pattern of Brazil’s play throughout this World Cup. The hosts committed 28 of total 51 fouls in their last match against Chile, the second most fouls match of this tournament.

If there was anger in Brazil, there was even more fury in Colombia too. The newspaper Hoy, Diario del Magdalena was in doubt who was to blame for their defeat. It screamed on the front page accusing the Spanish referee.

The incident of the injury didn’t seem noteworthy in the context of a robust game. Zuniga leapt for a high ball while Neymar didn’t. In that, he failed with the Colombian Defender Zuniga making clean contact with the ball. The Spanish referee Carlos Carballo decided the challenge as clean. The defender’s knee caught Neymar in the back in this incident. It is difficult to say whether there was a deliberate attempt to injure or whether he was simply trying retaining the balance.

For Zuniga it was a normal action. He said,

”I never intended to cause harm the player, although we have to play tough on the field.”

The former Brazilian striker and the World Cup top scorer Ronaldo mentioned the action ‘very violent’. The phenomenon sent his condolences to Neymar saying the whole country is proud of him. The team is now determined to win the world Cup and dedicate to him.

However, winning the hexa with Neymar in the Hospital and Thiago Silva in the bench will be harder than anytime for this Brazil team.

Lets see .

Germany’s World Cup history against Argentina

Argentina booked their place in the final of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, by defeating the Netherlands in the penalty shootout after 120 scoreless minutes on Wednesday. In Sunday’s historic clash Argentina’s will face the Giant Germany, who hammered the host Brazil in 7-1 victory.

Argentina vs Germany, THE HISTORY:

Argentina and Germany both have an extensive history in the World Cups. They have met 20 times in the past, but among them most notable are 1986 and 1990 World Cup finals meeting. Both of the finals are remembered as epic clashes in the World cup history.

The head-to-head:

With head-to-head nine wins and five draws, Argentina dominate the list, while Germany have won only six times. Despite of this there is an even goals balance (28 scored, 28 conceded) between these two giants.

The scenario is entirely different considering only competitive matches. In 2005 confederation cup the two sides drew scoring the result 2-2. The World Cup arena, they have fought six times. In that Germany won three times and twice they made the match draw. The Germans are commanding a record 11-5 goal difference with Argentina in the World Cup. In 1986 World Cup final, Argentina achieved their only World Cup win over Germany.

1986 World Cup Final:

In the final on 23th minutes Argentina was ahead with the goal from Jose Luis Brown. Jorge Valdano made the score 2-0 on 56 minutes. Then the ferocious Germany equalized the score when Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Rudi Voller netted 2 goals within seven minutes. On 81th minutes the score was 2-2.

It was a showdown between the Argentine Diego Maradona and the German Lother Matthaus. It was an epic battle for them while Matthaus seemed to have Maradona’s number throughout the match. With six minutes left on the watch, Jorge Burruchaga found Maradona’s assist to find the net and made the history for Argentina.

1990 World Cup Final:

Four years after the historic win in Maxico City, Argentina and West Germany met again in the World Cup final in Rome.

Argentine struggled throughout the tournament to reach the final. The luck was with them as they beat Yugoslavia in the quarterfinal and Italy in the semi on penalties. They entered the final with four players suspended.

It was a close game from the beginning. Then the drama started when the sub Pedro Monzon was sent off for Argentina on 65 minutes.

Then on 85 minutes the German striker Rudi Voller adjucted to have drawn a foul by Roberto Sensini in the penalty box. Andreas Brehme stepped to shot a penalty kick and he netted the ball from the bottom-left corner. It decided the fate of the final. The drama didn’t end there. Shortly thereafter, argentina’s Gustavo Dezotti got himself sent off the ground.

The last meeting, 2010 World Cup, quarterfinal:

Germany and Argentina met again in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinal, with the coach Maradona and magician Lionel Messi. Young German Muller’s goal was only the beginning of a rout by the Germans, who were 4-0 winners on the day after Klose scored a brace and Arne Friedrich slotted the only goal of his international career. The great Maradona was later dismissed from his position.

Nevertheless, it was 1990 finals when the either team won the world cup. So it will be a great motivation for both team. Hopefully the final will be hugely entertaining for the football world.

Colombian star James Rodriguez, the breakout star at the 2014 FIFA World Cup has been drawing the attention of world’s top clubs, particularly the Spanish giant Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are quite interested in the Monaco product James Rodriguez and very much intended to make a run at him provided they can sell Angel Di Maria, the Argentine midfielder.

As the 23-year-old winger expressed his desire to make the move to Real Madrid if Madrid ultimately makes a deal with him. It turns out to be a mutual feeling between James Rodriguez and Real Madrid.

James Rodriguez transfer rumor took its shape when he said,

”  It makes me proud that a club like Real Madrid is interested in me. It’s like a dream to play for Real Madrid.”

James Rodriguez’s transfer would bring a great deal of excitement and energy to Bernabeu, but not everyone is convinced that it would be a right move for him. Some believe that replacing Angel Di Maria with James Rodriguez would be a mistake.

Although Colombia was eliminated by Brazil in the quarterfinal at 2014 world cup, James Rodriguez’s performance was spectacular throughout the tournament. As the tournament’s top goal scorer, he leads superstars like Germany’s Thomas Muller and Argentina’s Lionel Messi in the Golden boot race.

Real Madrid is already stacked with several attacking talents like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale. So it would be even deadlier adding someone like James Rodriguez to the fold.

James Rodriguez tailed 10 goals and 12 assists for Monaco in the last season. He is such a player who both scores and contributes. His skill would certainly bode well for Real Madrid.

Above all, Rodriguez is a young player, just 23 who continues to get better. He could potentially reach unseen levels of success at Bernabeu.

However, his current club Monaco may not be keen on giving Rodriguez up, but the offers that come their way from Real Madrid and other clubs may force their hands as well. Right now, James Rodriguez is the fastest-rising star in the football world and seeing him with Los Blancos would be a true treat for football fans worldwide.

Mario Gotze: The World Cup Hero

In the World Cup final Mario Gotze took down Andre Schurrle’s pass on his chest and there was nonchalance in the manner with which he controlled and swept past the excellent Sergio Romero, from an unpromising angle. There was no sense of the potentially pivotal nature of the moment which could win Germany the World Cup.

Mario Gotze’s score ——image via: www.sportsnet.ca

The 22-year-old’s sweet strike the first by a substitute not only to decide a World cup final but it remained the point when he finally silenced any dissent as regards to just how special he is. Unlike Lionel Messi, Mario Gotze is truly a player apart from most in the match.

In late 2009 as a 17-year-old boy, he made his first team debut for Borussia Dortmund. Sunday night’s contribution in Rio de Janeiro would be a career defining moment for him and he he already created a clutch of them while he was still a teenager at the club who nurtured him from boyhood.

Mario Gotze is remembered for his role in the February 2011 win at the Allianz Arena. It was Dortmund’s first away at Bayern Munich in 20 years. In BVB’s 3-1 win over Bayern, Gotze created two of them.

In Dortmund’s re-ascent to the summit of the German game, Mario Gotze is the name that glitters. Mario Gotze was growing his individual importance when some five weeks later his astonishing solo goal got Dortmund back on track in a home game against Hannover.

It was a notable aspect of his playing from very tender age that he has had the confidence in himself to take responsibility in the most testing and stressful situations. His inner belief allowed him to take the plunge and make the decision to join Bayern Munich in April 2013. In his first season in Bayern, he scored 10 goals and setting up eight more in 20 Bundesliga starts.

When the Coach Joachim Low brought in Miroslav Klose for the quarter-final against France, some claimed that Mario Gotze was the victim of this choice. Gotze’s reaction to his World Cup exclusion, showed his calm and sense of perspective. So did Mario Gotze’s actions after the final whistle at the Maracana.

Even in the moment of celebrating victory, he spared a thought for his good friend and former Dortmund teammate Marco Reus by parading a team shirt emblazoned with Reus’ name. Marco Reus missed out the german World Cup squad after suffering a serious ankle injury in a pre-tournament final against Armenia.

There may be a strange and some controversial thought that Gotze might never have had the chance to make the impact if Reus hadn’t been injured. Even though they could work together in a devastating manner as they did at the Signal Iduna Park, it’s not hard to imagine that in Low’s decision there was hardly any room for only one of the pair in his squad.

Mario Gotze has indeed the instinct and talent to take centre stage when the time is right. So no wonder, Mario Gotze, the golden boy will reign German football until next World cup…

Fresh Gareth Bale Ready for Real Madrid

This summer seems to be a nice change of pace for Gareth Bale.

For the Welshman it has been a great disappointment missing the World Cup. But about 12 months ago, the 25-year-old Gareth Bale has enjoyed a relative anonymity around this time.

gareth bale, gareth bale profile, gareth bale skills
Gareth Bale, getting ready for the new season—–image via: forums.bigsoccer.com

Without the intensity of a transfer saga, the limelight of a glitzy unveiling with a weight of a world –record fee and overwhelming deluge of interview questions, Gareth Bale will have enjoyed a summer a little more like yours or mine over the past couple of months.

The former Tottenham player has seen other scrutinized during their time in Brazil World Cup and has witnessed contemporaries such as Toni Kross and James Rodriguez navigate through the Real Madrid fanfare. Bale also watched opponents and teammates alike endure a tiresome summer. This will have taken both physical and psychological toll for him as the new season arrives.

And finally the end product is a fully fresh, well-rested complete fit Gareth Bale who is ready to take Europe by storm.

The fresh Welshman, Gareth Bale said at the beginning of Real Madrid’s training camp,

” It was really disappointing not being in the Brazil World Cup, but I have had seven weeks of rest and now I can have a full pre-season”.

It was notable that he denied the last summer pre-season. He is now determined to improve his skills and technique. Bale said,

“I want to have an even better season than last year. I want to give more assists and score more goals. I want to improve in every aspect.”

Last season in all competition Gareth Bale contributed 22 goals and 17 assists! So, he definitely capable to improve more…

He said,

“Without pre-season it was tough enough, but this season will be different in the sense. It was a massive change for me, but in time I have become very comfortable here.”

What the Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid are set to witness in 2014-15 season is the Gareth Bale of two seasons ago at White Hart Lane.

They will witness the Bale who left scorch mark all around England soil, smashing 21 league goals as a roaming midfielder, doing so with a combination of sublime skill and explosive power that had rarely been seen previously in the English Premier League.

The Real Madrid has got the Golden Bale who almost burst the netting from 30 yards at West Ham, the Bale who rendered a whole Newcastle United team utterly helpless, the bale who cut the heart out of Manchester united at their home, Old Trafford, the Bale who annihilated Lyon with a simply exquisite pair of free-kicks.

So basically the Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez and the coach, Carlo Ancelotti are getting everything right that had been expected from an £85 million player.

And probably more is coming…

Last season, in his opening months in Madrid as a Galactico, Gareth Bale endured a somewhat underwhelming beginning. It is not that much tough to think that some factors were there like his absence in the pre-season due to injuries, difficulties with new home, new culture and new language.

gareth bale, footballer gareth bale, gareth bale speed, cristiano ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, the Duo——image via: www.zimbio.com

In Real Madrid uniform, Bale was forced to adapt on the wing, force to develop chemistry with Cristiano Ronaldo in the heat of competition, while Ancelotti tinkered with the team’s systematic approach to accommodate Bale’s talents.

And Gareth Bale had done all of that, despite not playing a full 90 minutes until November arrived. It was a gradual process finding his feet.

It is not hard to find the differences between then and now as the new season arrives. It is a obvious warning sign for the defenders in Spain and across Europe.

“I have become very comfortable here,”

he was telling that most of the time when in California.

Remember his name, Gareth Bale, who scored 22 goals and made 17 assists, assigned a hat-trick in just his 9th La Liga outing and in Copa del Rey who struck some decisive goals and who scored in the Champions league final before he had gotten COMFORTABLE!

On Monday, Ancelotti said of Bale,

“He’s doing what he wasn’t able to do last year,”

Despite some charming transfer news with James Rodriguez and Toni Kross in Real, the Welshman will be all around the La Liga and Champions League to be more ferocious.

Ochoa said,

”  I’m happy to be in this club that opened the doors to the Spanish league, which is a dream for me. It’s a great project.”

The Spanish club, Malaga ran into some financial difficulties in 2012. They were forced to sell top players like Joaquin, Isco and Jeremy Toulalan last year. But since then they have done an excellent job rebuilding their squad.

While Malaga won’t challenge the likes of the giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona for the La Liga title, they will be expected push for one of Spain’s European slots in the new season.

Guillermo Ochoa, who is he?

At the age of 20 Ochoa was called up by the Mexico team as the third choice goalkeeper in 2006 FIFA World Cup. Hugo Sanchez, the then newly appointed manager called Ochoa as a deputy of Mexico’s no 1 goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez. Ochoa made his debut on 2010 World Cup qualification and in 2010 FIFA World Cup he controversially remained the back-up goal keeper to veteran Oscar Perez.

Guillermo Ochoa in World Cup 2014:

For the 2014 World Cup, Guillermo Ochoa was named in Mexico’s 23-man squad. Ochoa started in Mexico’s opening match against Cameroon. The match ended in a 1-0 victory for Mexico. It was the debut match for Ochoa in a World Cup, having been called up for the previous two tournaments with no appearances.

In the second group stage match, the match against Brazil, Ochoa made four stunning saves, including a Neymar’s powerful header. The match result was draw and Ochoa was awarded man of the match.

The transfer and The Right Man:

It was their biggest need to find a replacement for Caballero for the upcoming new season. Guillermo Ochoa becomes the right man for them with World Cup experience and the skill set to thrive at the highest level.

Ross Barkley has already collected nine caps for England national team, making his debut in September 2013. His Brazil World Cup experience will have done him good and we can expect to see another strong season from Barkley this year.

The 19 year-boy, Raheem Sterling has two seasons of first team experience in the bag. Sterling already earned Liverpool’s first choice 11 and it is hardly surprising considering the trouble that he causes for the opponent defenders. His dribbling abilities, his equal capacity to play on the left, right or even in the center, made him one of the few highlights of England’s World Cup campaign. In the World Cup match against Italy, his excellent display caused numerous problems for the Azzurri. In the next upcoming season, Raheem Sterling has a great chance to improve in order to fill the void left by Luis Suarez’s exit.

3. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, another exciting youngster made his debut for the England National team in May 2012 as an 18 year old. He already travelled to two major tournaments and represented England 15 times. The pacey and exciting winger like Oxlade-Chamberlain can light up games with his darting runs down the wings and is capable of grabbing several goals over the course of the next season. His last campaign was disrupted by a number of injuries and his club Arsenal will be hoping that they can keep him fresh this season. If Arsenal want to push on and have their first serious title challenge, Chamberlain will be a vital ingredient for them.

4. Adnan Januzaj

Though Manchester United had their worst ever Premier League Season, the only highlight for them was the emergence of Adnan Januzaj. The 19 year old Belgian made his debut as a late substitute against Wigan and then went on to quickly establish himself as a regular in the first team. He eventually appeared 35 times and netted four goals in all competitions. Adnan Januzaj is equally comfortable in a central attacking midfield or in the wing. His excellent dribbling abilities and passes made him one of the finest young footballers in Europe. If Januzaj will able to gain more consistency this season, he could be a real star in the Premier League.

5. Luke Shaw

It has been a meteoric rise for the 19 year-old, Luke Shaw while Manchester United paid £30 million for the left back, making him the most expensive ever teenager this summer. In January 2012, Luke Shaw made his debut for Southampton and with some excellent performances he quickly came to the attention to the Premier League Clubs. After some eye catching skills, he made his debut for The England National team in February 2014, before being included in the World Cup squad. Hopefully he will occupy the number three role for England for the best part of the next decade.

He is one of the young footballers in the English Premier League in this season.

6. Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku, the 21 year-old is a proven goalscorer in the English Premier League. In the last two seasons while playing on loan for West brom and Everton, he bagged 32 goals in the last two seasons. He put himself ahead of established stars like Daniel Sturridge, Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney during the same period. However, the question is why Chelsea would let him go? He returned to Everton and it seemed that the loss of Chelsea is Everton’s gain. We can certainly expect more of the same from Lukaku this season as he is determined to push them into the top four.

7. John Stones

John Stones, top young footballers, young football stars

The 20-year-old, John Stones is another product of the youth system at Goodison Park. After his debut on New Year’s day this year, he made himself the heart of Everton defence. Less than six months later, john Stones picked up his cap for England against Peru. Although he didn’t make it to the World Cup, but there is evidence that John Stones has the eminent potential to be a star for Three Lions in near future. He will likely be in the first choice 11 for Everton when the season kicks off. If he continues to improve more and more, it shouldn’t be long before he becomes regular for England National team.

8. James Ward-Prowse

In the upcoming 2014/15 season, it will be a great chance for the Southampton midfielder to be the main man. Last season, he showed a tremendous ability with the ball and established himself as a first team regular. Ward-Prowse will be seen as a key man for Southampton this season and it will be right time to make a real name for himself. If Ward-Prowse can handle the extra responsibility, it could well be that he will go on to greater things in this season. On the other hand, it will be hard for Southampton to keep hold of him too.

9. Jon Flanagan

Jon Flanagan, the 21 year-old got his opportunity last season because of several injuries in Liverpool. He made some excellent performances in his unfamiliar position of left-back. Although he is more comfortable in the right side of defence, Jon Flanagan looked assured on the left-back and his marvelous form earned plenty of plaudits. For the right-back role he has got Glen Johnson. As it will help him to get more game time, his flexibility could prove to be a great benefit for the Reds. Jon Flanagan earns his debut for England this summer against Ecuador. If he can maintain the rhyme in the club level, we can see him wear more caps for England side too.

10. Ben Davies

Two years ago, Ben Davis made his professional debut for Swansea. Since then, the 21-year-old boy went on to play 85 times for Swansea and also appeared ten matches for Wales. His consistency and strong performance drew the attentions of the big clubs from the English Premier League, like Tottenham Hotspur. Ben Davis possesses the quality to make a name for himself at White Hart Lane, but as bigger the club as higher the pressure. He will have to cope with all of that, for the sack of making his career great.

After spending an excellent 2010/11 season for Schalke, Bayern Munich spent $26 million on Manuel Neuer, with another $10 million dependant on his overall performances. So many Bayern Munich supporters felt that the club had overspent on him as his contract was due to expire in 2012, a player who would have been available for free. Manuel Neuer has silenced all the critics and has become the best goalkeeper at the FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He won the golden gloves as Germany won the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

Manuel Neuer is in the No. 1 position of our list of Top 10 best goalkeepers.

Iker Casillas———–image via: www.remezcla.com

At Real Madrid he is known as “Saint Iker”. But unfortunately he was dropped most of the time in 2012/13 season in La Liga by Jose Mourinho. Despite this he remains a club legend, having come through the youth system of Real Madrid. Often he has had the misfortune due to inadequate defense in front of him. Real spent a lot to assemble a fearsome attack, neglecting the backline. But it was truly a great chance for Casillas to show his skills to an even greater extent, putting his body on the line and making some spectacular saves. In the 2010 World Cup winning for Spain, Iker was the potent savior and the captain of the winning side.

3. Gianluigi Buffon ( Italy and Juventus)

When Italy lifted the 2006 World Cup, it was considered that Gianluigi Buffon is the best goalkeeper of the last decade alongside Iker Casillas. In 2001, his move from Parma to Juventus remains the most expensive transfer as a goalkeeper. Now, at the age of 30, injuries may be taking their toll on him, but Buffon remains as the wall for his Club and his country. To us he is one of the best goalkeepers in World football.

It was a kind of misfortune for Victor Valdes of being in his prime at the same time as Iker Casillas, the man who has held the Spain jersey for over a decade. For Barcelona, Valdes is the most successful goalkeeper, having won six La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues. Victor Valdes, the former Tenerife youth is terrific in one-on-one situations. Valdes only earned his first cap for Spain National Team in 2010.

5. Petr Cech ( Czech Republic and Chelsea)

Petr Cech has been a model of consistency for Chelsea since his arrival in 2004. He rarely makes any error and has helped his club to win three Premier League titles and a Champions League title. In 2006, in a controversial challenge by Reading’s Stephen Hunt, Petr Cech suffered a devastating injury with fractured skull. Soon he recovered and started to make some stunning saves despite Chelsea’s solid defense. It has made him the sign of his class and extreme concentration that he is rarely found wanting when called upon.

6. Joe Hart ( England and Manchester City)

Joe Hart made a huge contribution to the Citizen’s title win in 2012. Being a superb shot-stopper he is such a man between the posts who possesses with calmness and true authority. However, in the season of 2012/13 Hart didn’t able to show his magic anyway and despite his numerous strengths, the England goalkeeper needs to improve his handling and minimize errors.

7. Thibaut Courtois ( Belgium and Atletico Madrid)

Thibaut Courtois plays with firm confidence beyond his tender years and has made some truly remarkable saves since joining Atletico Madrid on loan from Chelsea in 2012. This promising goalkeeper will be one of the very bests in the World for the next decade while Chelsea have a ready-made replacement for Petr Cech once they decide to bring back the Belgian from his long term loan with Atletico Madrid.

8. Julio Cesar ( Brazil and Queens Park Rangers)

From the 2010 World Cup qualifiers Julio Cesar emerged as Brazil’s first- choice goalkeeper. The former Inter Milan keeper didn’t let his country down. In 2014 World Cup, his stunning saves in the penalty shootout against Chile saved Brazil. Later then, in the semifinals with a defenseless team, he didn’t do more. Hopefully, he will strongly come back to show his strength.

9. Hugo Lloris ( France and Tottenham Hotspur)

Hugo Lloris seems to have a promising career ahead of him both for his country and his club. The France captain Lloris is much more capable of keeping strikers at bay by boasting a long reach and superb reflexes. In August 2012, he was signed by Tottenham Hotspur as they were looking for a long-term option between the posts. But he has to be more advanced in making decisions.

10. Samir Handanovic ( Slovenia and Inter Milan)

The 6 ft 5 in Slovenian stopper established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A. In July 2012, after joining Inter Milan has become an asset for the team. Handanovic helped to form the spine of the Slovenia team by conceding just four goals in 2010 World Cup qualifying matches. His agility and penalty saving powers are becoming more valuable for his country and club.
