Finally the Mexican stopper and free agent Guillermo Ochoa has signed the papers for a new club to join this upcoming new season. Officially he was assigned for the Spanish side Malaga on Friday.
After a sensational performance at the 2014 World Cup, he made himself the hottest free agent on the market. Although he spent the last few seasons playing for French minnows Ajaccio, it came as no surprise at all that he held out for a club of much bigger stature, like Spanish club Malaga.
Guillermo Ochoa signed a three-year deal with Malaga after passing a medical on Friday. He is likely expected to become Malaga’s new starter after Willy Caballero’s transfer to English Club Manchester City.
” I’m happy to be in this club that opened the doors to the Spanish league, which is a dream for me. It’s a great project.”
The Spanish club, Malaga ran into some financial difficulties in 2012. They were forced to sell top players like Joaquin, Isco and Jeremy Toulalan last year. But since then they have done an excellent job rebuilding their squad.
While Malaga won’t challenge the likes of the giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona for the La Liga title, they will be expected push for one of Spain’s European slots in the new season.
Guillermo Ochoa, who is he?
At the age of 20 Ochoa was called up by the Mexico team as the third choice goalkeeper in 2006 FIFA World Cup. Hugo Sanchez, the then newly appointed manager called Ochoa as a deputy of Mexico’s no 1 goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez. Ochoa made his debut on 2010 World Cup qualification and in 2010 FIFA World Cup he controversially remained the back-up goal keeper to veteran Oscar Perez.
Guillermo Ochoa in World Cup 2014:
For the 2014 World Cup, Guillermo Ochoa was named in Mexico’s 23-man squad. Ochoa started in Mexico’s opening match against Cameroon. The match ended in a 1-0 victory for Mexico. It was the debut match for Ochoa in a World Cup, having been called up for the previous two tournaments with no appearances.
In the second group stage match, the match against Brazil, Ochoa made four stunning saves, including a Neymar’s powerful header. The match result was draw and Ochoa was awarded man of the match.
In the knock-out match against Netherlands, Ochoa made several crucial saves to hold on to Mexico’s 1-0 advantage. However, the Dutch took the match by 2-1. His performance and skills were well praised and awarded second man of the match. So, this is our Guillermo Ochoa.
The transfer and The Right Man:
It was their biggest need to find a replacement for Caballero for the upcoming new season. Guillermo Ochoa becomes the right man for them with World Cup experience and the skill set to thrive at the highest level.
It is a great chance for Ochoa to show he truly is one of the elite players at the position in undoubtedly the strongest league in the world, so this transfer truly feels like a match made in paradise.
There are so many fantastic goalkeepers in the world football. And especially Premier League holds the most of these most valuable goalkeepers in the world. Most of the Premier League Goalkeepers are capable of fantastic saves. They are also the most paid goalkeepers in the world 2016. Now, here comes the question of ranking these premier league goalkeepers in a top 10 short list.
Top 10 English Premier League Goalkeepers 2016:
Finding out the top 10 English Premier League Goalkeepers is a tough job. There are so many standards to be considered while selecting them. Here in this short list we are mostly emphasizing on these English Premier League Goalkeepers’ previous and present records as well as their market value or in other words how these English Premier League Goalkeepers are being paid.
Let’s find out, who is the most valuable English Premier League Goalkeeper in 2016?
10. Brad Guzan – Aston Villa F.C.
Brad Guzan is one of the only three American goalkeepers in the English Premier League history. Tim Howard and Brad Friedel are the other two American goalkeepers playing in the most popular football league in the world. He showed that he was capable of taking over as first choice keeper at Aston Villa.
Undoubtedly he can withstand as much pressure as anyone else in Barclays Premier League. He can be easily counted as the most valuable English Premier League Goalkeeper as he is at his peak form right now.
Ben Foster is back again to West Brom permanently this season. He has played reasonably well for the last season. And obviously some cases were like earning points for the Baggies. He is now at 30 and still a few years to settle properly into being a real class as being one of the most valuable English Premier League Goalkeepers in 2016.
He is also currently one of the West Brom’s most valuable players in 2015-2016 season.
Julio Cesar may have come to the Premier League for just one season especially at the age of 34. But unfortunately his team QPR have been relegated last season. But he was quite able to show the type of goalkeeping that has won him League titles and cups in Italian Serie A.
Even with his team relegated, he was a real team player. He kept 6 clean sheets over the season and playing for QPR this is extremely good as being one of the most valuable English Premier League Goalkeepers in 2016.
The age old Premier League veteran, Jussi Jaaskelinen is another well-known goalkeeper. He is currently the 7th in this list of top 10 English Premier League Goalkeepers in 2016. This campaign has only enhanced his reputation by pulling off some world class saves for West Ham.
And most obviously he had a good season with 11 clean sheets in 2015-2016. He makes 5.11 saves a game on average. Definitely this just shows that he can still make important saves at crucial times even at his old ages of 38.
Although Tim Howard is one of our pick as top 10 most valuable Premier League goalkeepers in 2015-2016, he has achieved only 9 clean sheets. Yes, of course this is not bad, but still a player like him worth a little more I believe. At least a bit better can be expected from the American National Team goalkeeper in Premier League.
Hopefully he will be ending this season with some more exquisite saves and world class goalkeeping.
05. Jose Reina – Liverpool (currently at F.C. Bayern Munich)
For the last 10 years Reina has been at Liverpool. Undoubtedly he was the number one choice for Liverpool at his time. We can imagine how consistent a goalkeeper needs to be as being a part of 10 consecutive seasons in a single team. This was totally impressive. As a matter of fact he was to move very certainly for more world class performance.
He had 13 clean sheets over the course of the last season. He was considered the 5th choice as most valuable goalkeeper in EPL 2015-2016. This top class goalkeeper still has an average of 4.17 saves per match, which is quite unbelievable.
Lloris have joined Tottenham in the summer of last year. May be he was not at his best performance but eventually he was found getting thing straight clean. Definitely he has got his turn with 8 clean sheets in only 24 games last season. This probably explains a lot about his price tag and our evaluation as one of the most valuable English Premier League Goalkeepers in 2016.
And of course he was a world class goalkeeper before joining the Barclays Premier League. We all can appreciate his efforts to match up with a very new world class Premier League.
Probably some of you have suspected this name in number one position. What has been a rollercoaster season for Chelsea and their supporters! Petr Cech has been a very important player throughout the last season undoubtedly. He has made well over 5 saves per game on average and he also has had 14 clean sheets in 2015-2016.
Some crucial saves have kept Chelsea in the running for a Champions League spot. Also his save took the team Chelsea to Europa League final.
David De Gea really stepped up last season. Oh, another noticeable thing is that he has physically gotten stronger. And his confidence has grown since his shaky first start in English Premier League.
Manchester United have only lost 5 games this season and that comes as no real surprise as De Gea has been pulling off some unbelievable saves for the team. He has so far managed a decent 11 clean sheets while making 4.37 saves per match. I think its good enough for a young fella like him.
Of course this is the one name that wipes out all other possibilities of other names to be found at the first position of Top 10 most valuable English Premier League Goalkeepers in 2016. He is the only other 26 year old on this list and has had his fair share of disastrous moments. But he always seems to battle back with his talent.
Most of the times he is found to be gaining some extra lift from somewhere during big games. He is undoubtedly the number one goalkeeper in England. He has had managed 17 clean sheets last season. Although Man City finished the season second, Joe Hart continues to grow and produce results..
Manchester United could be welcoming Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels and Atletico Madrid’s Mario Mandzukic to Old Trafford this summer. According to talkSPORT, Mats Hummels is kind of pondering his future at Dortmund following the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp and wants to leave this summer.
Borussia Dortmund had a difficult season in Bundesliga. They will not feature in the Champions league next season because of their poor performance this summer. The sales of Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski is consecutive summers weakened Borussia Dortmund while on the other hand it strengthened the rival Bayern Munich in German Bundesliga.
MANU Transfer News: Mats Hummels, Mario Mandzukic
Mats Hummels would reportedly set his value at £20 million for Manchester United, but for a player of his caliber, that price is more than worth it for the United. The Germany international, Hummels is a vast experienced player. He always performs outstandingly on the biggest stage of football. He came into the football through Bayern Munich youth academy. He joined his current club, Borussia Dortnund on loan in January 2008 and officially signed in 2009 for €4 million. He won two league titles and finished as runner-up in 2012-13 UEFA Champions league for the Borussia Dortmund.
He is playing for the German international team since 2010. Hummels has earned over 30 caps and represented Germany at Euro 2012 and 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The center-back is also an effective defender and would certainly improve the quality of Manchester United’s back line. Despite Dortmund’s struggle in Bundesliga, Hummels won 61% of his duels for his team, which also includes 70% of his aerial battles and successfully dribbled past an opponent 20 times in 28 attempts. The performance is quite impressive indeed. The 26-year-old central defender is a solid defender who is very much comfortable with the ball. He would be a great asset for the Red Devils’ uninspiring defense. Hummels should be considered as a must-buy for the Manchester United.
Up front, The Red Devils would be very much keen to add Mario Mandzukic in this summer of tranfer window. Mandzukic has shown much potential in this season of La Liga. He netted a total 21 goals in his debut season with Atletico Madrid. ManU are negotiating an £18.1 million transfer deal for the Croatian striker. He is a prolific goal scorer with a great defensive and aerial power. While in Bayern Munich, he won three trophies in his first season with the team, including the Champions League. Mandzukic became the first Croat to score in the Champions league final with Bayern.
He participated in two major competitions for Croatia, 2012 EURO and 2014 FIFA World Cup. Mandzukic was awarded the Croatian Footballer of the Year both in 2012 and 2013.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone spoke on Mandzukic’s exit from the Vicente Calderon,
“He annoys me easily, that’s the fact. He is a great player indeed and a decent lad. He himself is down about not maintaining the form he displayed up until this season.”
The Croatian striker netted 21 goals for Atletico Madrid and laid on five assists in all competitions during his debut season with the Spanish club. However, Mandzukic went on a significant dry spell in the last half of the season in La Liga.
Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is desperate in need of more firepower up front as Robin Van Persie continues to declines with age and Radamel Falcao has returned to his old club FC Monaco. The 29-year-old Mandzukic would be a fine squad player for the Red Devils, but they will not want to be in the position where they are relying on him to fire them to win the premier league title next season.
The Atletico striker is powerful in the air and excels at holding the ball up. But, Manchester United lack the pace in forward areas which they are currently lacking. This deficit caused Van Gaal to play Angel Di Maria out of his natural position or experiment with youngster James Wilson last season in Premier league. Mario Mandzukic can’t be considered as an attractive proposition in this case, given his age and playing style.
On the other hand, Mats Hummels should be brought into the old trafford whatever the cost is. The classy midfielder cum defender would add leadership and solidity to United’s shaky defense line and his purchase would be a bold step for Van Gaal towards returning to the air of invulnerability, that they enjoyed under the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Xavi Hernandez has recently left Barcelona to join the Qatari football club, Al Sadd SC. He may leave, but the legacy he left behind in Nou Camp, will last for generations. Xavi was the most decorated player for Barcelona. He signed off in a best possible way, by lifting the Champions League title in Berlin in a great passion. With Xavi’s absence in the heart of the Barcelona’s midfield, an enormous void was created for the Catalans. Barcelona need to fill the blank immediately, but to suggest that player would be a direct replacement for Xavi Hernandez, is pushing it somewhat.
We have looked over five players who might step into Xavi’s shoes. Barcelona would be planning to organize the midfield in such a manner that would definitely suit for a Champions league winner. So, Let’s have a look-
5 potential replacements of Xavi in Barcelona:
1. Denis Suarez
Denis Suarez has really found his feet in La Liga for Sevilla over the past 12 months in the last season. He was sent on loan to play in Sevilla as a part of the deal that brought Ivan Rakitic to Nou Camp. Suarez proved himself as a great attacking midfielder back in Andalusia. But the loan contract still to go on for another year and it would not be easy for Barcelona to bring him back. However, it is not impossible for a club like Barcelona.
The Catalans has already built up a healthy relationship with Sevilla, signing Aleix Vidal in the most recent time from Sevilla. Denis Suarez has the potential to become successful in Barca, much like Gerard Deulofeu, who was given much the same opportunities. He could be a better replacement for Xavi, as during his time with Barcelona B,he used to take the midfield responsibility quite successfully.
Paul Pogba, the French midfielder appears the most likely to be signed by Barcelona this summer. Already some initiatives are taken to grab this Juve at personal and club level. Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said,
“it is true that Paul Pogba is one of the leading targets of ours and obviously we are interested to bring him at the Nou Camp. But, I cann’t say anything more right now.”
Pogba would make a real change of direction in the midfield for the Barcelona. He would be a more powerful midfielder than the ‘conductor’ Xavi has been. Landing the ex-Manchester United man would cost Barcelona more or less around €80 million and the midfielder is just waiting for the green signal.
If Barcelona are interested in Real Madrid midfieder Isco, firstly, they have to arrange a third party to have Isco signed for them before he move onto Barca. It’s a matter of just a few months. There is absolutely no chance that Florentino Perez would sanction a move to Real Madrid’s greatest rivals.
Although, Isco would be significantly cheaper than Pogba, there are unlikely to be too many supporters fussed about Isco previously having plied his trade at the Santiago Bernabeu if there was a chance of signing him to Barcelona. It doesn’t need to be a researcher say that Isco is the right man, at right place, at right age.
Barcelona have been considered a potential destination for Marco Reus for some while, but prefers to remain as a Borussia Dortmund midfielder. In February, Reus has made a new deal for the German club. So, any proposed deal would be difficult for him right now. Considering Reus’ adaptability, Barcelona may feel that he is player worth pursuing.
Marco Reus is an amazing footballer, who can play in any part of the ground and is comfortable in possession. He has a sense of sit and hold as well as pop off inch perfect passes and assists in. He is a high-class football performer. Barcelona have to dig deep to catch Marco Reus.
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla is the perfect guy, who knows many of the team well through his time with the Spanish National team. It is quite unclear what Arsene Wenger would make an approach from Barcelona’s offer. But, at 30, Santi Cazorla isn’t exactly the one for future. But, the Barcelona team always want to test waters. Barcelona are quite capable to bring out the class within the players. Let’s do them some experiment this summer. Hopefully, they will find a perfect replacement for Xavi in the midfield.
English club Manchester United have started to strengthen their side in order to claim their Premier League title in the next season. The United boss Louis Van Gaal is reportedly targeting to spend half of his budget for Manchester United transfers so far this summer. Van Gaal has wisely spent in defence and midfield and he needs just a couple more parts of the jigsaw to finish everything off. It is estimated that, Manchester United have about £75million left to complete their major business in this summer of 2015.
Louis Van Gaal’s side recorded a respectable 4th place in the last season of English Premier League, but further development will be expected by this Dutch tactician as well as the club’s huge fan base. There are several areas of ManU that are in need of attention, which include both the front and the back lines. The team is planning to welcome bunch of players in the Old Trafford during the upcoming transfer window.
Transfer Targets of Manchester United in summer 2015:
The Sporty Ghost team have enlisted the Top 10 transfer targets of Manchester United in summer 2015. No United fan would be disappointed to see pull on the famous red shirt. So, here they are-
10. Felipe Anderson
The young attacking midfielder, Felipe Anderson has shown some outstanding performances and enjoyed a solid season in Serie A with Lazio. He moved to the Italian capital from Santos in 2013. He is one of the quickest and tecnically gifted youngsters in football. Felipe Anderson has a big future ahead of him. His name should not be confused with other one, whose spell at old Trafford was a mere tale of unfulfilled potential. He will a little bit least choice for Manchester United as they already brought two midfield giants.
9. Nicolas Otamendi
Nicolas Otamendi has established himself as one of the most powerful and devastating center halves for Valencia. He was signed here in the Spanish club from Porto last summer. Otamendi has enjoyed a colourful reputation following a string of impressive performances in Spanish La Liga last season.
The 27-year-old Argentine is likely to cost a huge sum of money for the Manchester United, but he is in his prime and seems to be tailor made for the physicality of the English Premier League. He has the ability to change the game, which will be likely to endear him to Louis Van Gaal further. He is placed at No. 9 place in the list of top 10 transfer targets of Manchester United in summer 2015.
8. Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian midfielder is currently playing for German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim. The 22-year-old has been in superb form for the club, but his displays have snuck under the radar somewhat. Firmino has scored seven goals in the last Bundesliga season, and also ensured a healthy assist return, which was enough to grab the attention of Carlos Dunga and thereafter he forced his way into Brazil’s Copa America squad.
He may be relatively unproven at the top level, but the tricky and skillful Brazilian attacker would get bums off seats at Manchester United. He is at No. 8 in our list of top 10 tranfer targets of Manchester United in summer 2015.
7. Nathaniel Clyne
Nathaniel Clyne is currently playing for Southamtpn as a right back. Truly, he is a man in demand. His splendid season for the Southampton has not gone unnoticed and several of Manchester United’s rivals, including Liverpool, are very much interested in acquiring him. The Merseysiders’ measly bid £10 million for his service, but was rejected. Manchester United would have to double that money to make sure Nathaniel Clyne waves goodbye to St. Mary’s and move into Old Trafford.
6. Mats Hummels
Manchester United truly lack a defence leader and the Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels could be the answer for them. Following Dortmund’s disappointing campaign in the last Bundesliga season, there are lots of questions concerning Hummels performance. But, it is an unavoidable truth that, the United also lack some power in the central defending position at present.
The 26-year-old German defender will not come cheap. He can be the missing piece of Van Gaal’s defensive puzzle. The No. 6 position in our list is attributed to Mats Hummels. Let’s hope, the puzzle being solved.
The current United goal keeper David de Gea, has been tipped to sign for Real Madrid. If it happens, this would leave a huge hole in Manchester United’s defence line.In that case, the Tottenham Hotspur’s shot-stopper Hugo Lloris would be the first choice to Van Gaal in order to fill the gap.
The current France captain, Lloris is a ready-made replacement for de Gea. Both the goalkeepers have shared a similar goalkeeping style and the 28-year-old, Lloris has a wealth of experience in the English Premier League. He would be a remarkable replacement for de Gea between United’s post.
French forward Karim Benzema is constantly tipped to be the fall guy at Santiago Bernabeu. He is most likely to be deemed surplus to requirements for Real. There has been a massive change of plan after the arrival of Rafa Benitez and he is planning to take his side’s front line in a different direction. As a result, after passing some difficult time, Benzema could be on his way out of the Spanish capital. The United, on the other hand, is in need of new additions in front line following the failure of Radamel Falcao’s spell.
Van Gaal should have eyed on him in this case. The 27-year-old still possesses proven quality and stamina. He has the ability to develop an excellent partnership with Wayne Rooney in the front line. He is at No. 4 in the list of top 10 transfer targets of Manchester United in summer 2015.
The Swedish striker and the heart of Paris Saint Germain, Zlatan isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. He may has some egotistical demeanour and outspoken nature, which tend to rub people up the wrong. But, he also has some unique talent in football.Although the contract he signed for PSG still remains one year by the calender, the Ligue 1 Champions could decide to sell Zlatan this summer, rather than the risk of losing him for nothing. It would be an exciting scene to watch Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing at the United’s front in the next season of EPL.
Arguably, Paul Pogba is currently the most sought after player in the football world. The Juventus midfielder is also targeted by Manchester City and FC Barcelona. Although, Pogba left Old Trafford for nothing only a few years ago, following a contract dispute, but he showed some superb performance at Juventus. He has attracted interest from almost every European club and is expected to cost around £40 million to sign him in. If Van Gaal wants some progress in the future, the 22 years old, Paul Pogba will be a most needed player.
Now, here he comes, the most cherished and the most focused part of this story, which ended up with Gareth Bale. He is the No. 1 boy in our list of top 10 transfer targets of Manchester United in Summer 2015. The Welshman may have been installed as a scapegoat at Real Madrid this season of La Liga, but his arrival at Old Trafford would be a great statement of intent. However, the former Spurs star, Gareth Bale is the highest paid football player of all time in the history of football.
Bale’s physical stamina and electric pace is to be well suited in Premier League football. If Gareth Bale joins the Red Devils, it would make them the best attacking tridents in the world, alongside Wayne Rooney and the new boy, Memphis Depay.
Now it’s been clear that Bayern Munich “are in contact” with the Spanish premier club Real Madrid to sign Martin Odegaard. Again, Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been advised to consider joining Los Merengues, probably this summer.
Some of the German media networks has already confirmed, Odegaard is on Bayern’s radar. But the German club would like to respect his previous decision to sign for Madrid. Alongside, Odegaard hasn’t made a first-team appearance for Real Madrid, last season. So, they prefer to let the great football player take his own decision for joining them.
Yes, of course Odegaard has struggled to fit in at Real since joining. He had been playing largely for the team’s Castilla side despite becoming the club’s youngest debutant in the final fixture on last season at 16 years and 157 days of age.
Surprisingly the young star came on as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. May be I can help you remember, Cristiano was the reigning Ballon d’Or winner at the time. But lack of any first-team involvement, we had to admit it wasn’t quite the “passing of the torch”.
Bayern was already there while the Norwegian starlet Odegaard moved to Santiago Bernabeu from Stromsgodset in January, 2015. They tried to link up before Real Madrid, but Odegaard had thought otherwise.
“Odegaard should have moved to the Bundesliga instead of Spain. You could say what would Gladbach be able to do against the biggest clubs in Europe? But I am convinced Odegaard would be a Bundesliga player in Gladbach. At Real he has a hard time at the moment.”
Real Madrid was never good at promoting the youth consistently. Even, not all the club’s managers have held that reputation. But Madrid’s current chief Zinedine Zidane may wish to change such situation. In fact we have to recall that he is the former Castilla coach. Bayern may still want the 17 year old Norwegian prodigy to sign in.
Meanwhile, Teddy Sheringham (ex-English forward) has told Spurs superstar Kane to consider upon the interest he’s currently getting from the top most clubs in the world. Speaking to the Mail On Sunday –
“I’m sure there are top clubs looking at him. They’d be prepared to break the bank just because of the way he plays and the way he wants to score goals”
But maybe we have scope for a second thought, Should he move right now? Timing’s a funny thing in football. Most supposedly you have to take the opportunity when it arises. And if it’s left over, another prosperous may have reached there at the elite club and you won’t get the chance again for at least few years.
Kane undoubtedly feels an allegiance to the club who handed him his break into the Premier League, but after netting 22 goals in the English top flight this season, he may be tempted to join Los Blancos next season.
Yes, your lunch cost $10,99. Your rent keeps crawling up, and those happy hour cocktails aren’t so happy. But in the world of professional soccer, the transfer prices for European players are becoming beyond astronomical.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Paul Pogba; the world’s most expensive soccer player that has ever graced the pitch; recently signed a mammoth contract at the world’s most valuable club, Manchester United. Now he might be earning over $340,000 per week *gasp* – but the transfer fee paid to Italian giants Juventus was over $110 million (£89m) plus add-ons based on future performance. What makes this transfer even crazier is that the player grew up in Manchester and left for Juventus for free just five years earlier.
Paul Pogba has surpassed Gareth Bale, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s most expensive player… with very big, shiny boots to fill. Manchester United are a commercial powerhouse, as well as a pretty impressive soccer team, even without the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm. Manchester United have won 20 League Titles, 3 European Championships, and 12 English Cups.
The ‘Special One’ Jose Mourinho made Pogba his Number 1 target when arriving for the 2016/2017 campaign as the new manager. Pogba has impressed domestically and internationally – helping France reach the Euro Finals in Paris, earlier this year. Unfortunately for Pogba and Co., Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal stole the trophy from the hosts in extra time.
The premier League alone spent over $1,5 Billion in transfers for the 2016/2017 campaign. But in light of Pogba’s iconic haircuts, questionable dance moves and outrageous marketability, he is on the lips of every soccer fan, every player wants to shoot the ball like him, and he is now on the back of a lot of fan’s jerseys; You might wonder how Manchester United would ever recoup their huge transfer fee… In just 3 weeks they surpassed $200 million in jersey sales. Seems like good business to us.
The real question we have is; what do these players do with all their earnings? Sure, they own exotic cars, mansions and fancy holidays. But what about the frivolous purchases? Our bet is that these players, like many of us, spend some dough on some fun. They might even join Royal Vegas and play free slot machines, doubling their earnings! Or spend a little cash betting against their teammates in a fantasy football league.
However they choose to spend their outrageous income, we’ll support them all the way. After all, they’re the ones we root for during soccer season.
Luis Suarez is the last biggest transfer for Barcelona. Suarez has signed a 5 year contract with a weekly salary of around 200,000 GBP in Barcelona. This is the same salary he was getting at Liverpool. But, probably he will be having a lot other clauses that can boost his earnings definitely.
Naymar was signed last year and he is 4th highest paid player in Barcelona ranks. Currently Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Pique all earn more than the sensational forward. His yearly salary is published around Euros 7 Million. Neymar was signed from Santos in June 2013 for 2nd most expensive Transfer in Barcelona history. His contract remains until 2018 with Barcelona.
Here we are trying to present you a very carefully researched wage list of 2014-15 Barcelona team. As the clauses in the contracts are never disclosed, so the players salary list cannot be assured 100% accurate. But tried our best research on each Barcelona Players from sources like – BBC, Guardian, MARCA and CNN.

Signing in new great players and leaving of such greats are another common issue here like most other renowned leagues in the world. But keep remember, despite these few changes, the intensity and passion for the EPL remains just as powerful as ever for millions of screaming soccer lovers.
Ashley Cole left of the Italian club Roma, Rio Ferdinand moved from Manchester United after 12 years to join Queens Park Rangers, Frank Lampard left Chelsea after 13 years to join New York City FC. And most definitely some too big names have already signed here in English Premier League. The English Premier League transfer news assures that this League is currently holding some of the most valuable or highest paid footballers in the world.
Top 10 richest Football Players in English Premier League:
As we already have disclosed that this is the most-watched football league in the world (with a potential TV audience of 4.7 billion people), no wonder that the English Premier League footballers make huge amounts of money. Accumulating their high endorsements deals, sponsorships huge salaries, we can easily conclude these players as some of the wealthiest sportsmen in the world.
Here, in a very short list we are trying to figure out some of these richest football players in English Premier League in 2015. These top 10 list is very specifically including only those English-born EPL footballers, who can be regarded as the richest footballers in England.
Let’s check out, who are the richest football players in English premier League 2015?
10. James Milner – $9 million
The 28-year-old midfielder began his professional career playing for his native club Leeds United in 2202. He has also played for Newcastle United and Aston Villa before being signed in August 2010 to Manchester City.
James Milner is reported to be worth an estimated $9 million for Manchester City. City assured him a huge five-year, $40 million contract, which worth about $165,000 a week. Although he has only played a very short period in the English Premier League this season, fans are pretty sure he’s not too bent out of shape as before. Alongside the midfielder has an endorsement deal with Nike. Combining all these prospects we think our 10th choice James Milner as the richest football players in English Premier League is good enough.
Tied with James Milner at $9 million, Ashley Young is the 9th of the top 10 richest English Premier League footballers, currently playing as Manchester United winger. Point to be noted, he can be considered as English born from his mother’s side. The 29-year-old winger is from Hertfordshire, played for Watford and Aston Villa before signing with Manchester United in 2011.
Manchester United just offered him double what he was making at Villa. And the deal was $9 million for one year contract. Since 2007, Young has earned 28 caps on the English national team. In the meantime, the top paid player also scored 7 goals. Some of his opposing players and fans often refer him as Ashley Young could have had a great career as an actor or ballet dancer if he’d wanted. But definitely we believe there should have been enough causes behind this player’s being as one of the highest paid football players in England.

It has been 19 years since Rafael Benitez left the club where he cut his playing and coaching teeth and finally he set to return to the Santiago Bernabeu and take the hot seat. Benitez is a former player with Castilla and a successful coach from the age of 26. He worked hard and made his way up the ranks via the Under 19s. He was an assistant to Vicente Del Bosque. Now, he is coming home with the blessing of top man of Real Madrid, namely Florentino Perez.
Real Madrid Vice-president Eduardo Fernandez confirmed the appointment telling the press,
“Carlo Ancelotti is a real phenomenon to me. Three days ago, he was the best coach in the world, as two years ago the best was Jose Mourinho and now it will be Rafael Benitez.”
Previously, Perez tried several times to lure Benitez and bring him back to Bernabeu. It is the third time for the Real Madrid President who always had Benitez in his mind from the moment he had decided to dismiss Carlo Ancelotti.
Rafa Benitez Is the Perfect Manager for Real Madrid:
Rafael Benitez is a man who understands completely about Real Madrid. He will be fully aware about managing a club like Real entails to the players, the executive board and the media affairs. As many of the players are disappointed following the news of Ancelotti’s departure, they issued a number of farewells for him. It is not really a good sign giving the outgoing Carlo a heart-warming uplift.
Actually, players are always sorry to see a manager leaving. It will be a greater challenge for the players to accept new coach who might be tempted to get the ball rolling with double training dose. The players might sacrifice to luxuriate in the comfort zone.
Rafael Benitez is certainly that kind of manager I’m talking about. He is returning here with the full backing and unconditional support from the Club’s hierarchy. Benitez is a man with definite plan. He is going to make the players work as a team. He will balance the offensive and defensive section by doing more training jobs. When the time comes for him to leave, it will not be a simple ‘bon voyage’ type at all for sure.
However, there are many complaints about Benitez. Some critics accuse him to be an over defensive coach. Few days ago, in an interview with Marca, he was quick to point out the disbelief, mentioning the difference between organized which was previously perceived as defensive.
Let’s have a look at the titles he won over the years- two La Liga for Valencia, a Champions League for Liverpool, two Europa league titles for Chelsea and Valencia, FA and Italian Cup finals for Liverpool and Napoli respectively. Benitez’s squad are always set up to score goals. The teams are organized in a way to win the titles. There are many trophies in his achievement which are not only own by the mere act of scoring goals after goals, but also by that of not conceding. In the interview he added, it is obviously talent which is all well and good, but eventually the team have to be organized in a proper way.
He is a master at using and adapting to what he has available. At Liverpool, it was him, who transformed Steven Gerrard to an efficient goal machine by playing behind Fernando Torres. It was one of his most successful strategies and was regarded as the stuff of legend. Benitez is also a prolific idol of tactics such as zonal marking and squad rotation. During the first implementation, they were controversial, but they were innovative and effective too.
Many coaches followed his methods, yet he never received the credit of being the chief pioneer of such approach. He is also the first to adapt the technique of twin holding midfielders. The tactic was so effective in creating balance in all areas. But alas! He is still accused of being a defensive minded coach.
Under his guidance, Liverpool scored a total of 119 goals in the 2007-08 season in EPL, which was more than any other English club. However, there is a little doubt about one thing. Will he be able to do whatever he wish at Bernabeu?
It will be a great challenge for Rafa Benitez. He will be eager to do things his way and will have a supremely organized approach to build the team. Hopefully, Real Madrid will return as a major in the next season both at home and abroad.

He was suspended from January 2004 for missing drug test in 2003.
He had to miss half the premier League along with the European Champions season. He was also the captain for Manchester before various injury problems. 2. Marquinhos – $50.21 Million
From Roma to Paris Saint Germain
He is probably the youngest member in this list of three most expensive transfer fees for defenders in soccer. Marquinhos at the age of 19, was signed by French champions Paris Saint Germain from AS Roma for $50.21 million in 2013. He is a highly rated youngster and was named as one of the ten most promising young defenders.
Marquinhos also made his international debut for the Brazilian National Team in 2013. He in fact joined his Brazilian compatriots Alex and Thiago Silva at the Parisian giant club. Undoubtedly he had shown impressive performance so that to start as central defender alongside Silva.
1. Thiago Silva – $58.88 Million
From A.C. Milan to Paris Saint Germain
Thiago Silva is the number one player in this list. He is the most expensive defender in soccer history. Of course the man is thought to be one of the best defenders in the current soccer world. Football fans would definitely acknowledge his large transfer fee as fair reflection. Thiago Silva was transferred from A.C. Milan to Paris Saint Germain (PSG) for a fee of $58.88 million in 2012.
Silva captained the team to their first League Championship since 1994 in 2012/2013 season. Silva being arguably the best defender, also captained Brazil to the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Brazil. Previously he had the glory of being a silver medalist for Brazil during the 2012 London Olympics.
Sergio Ramos, the most successful centre-half for the Spanish Club, Real Madrid has been linked with Manchester United in this summer of transfer window. In addition, Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels is knocked repeatedly by the United, although the German mid-field had turned down a move to Manchester in May. Hummels would be a great asset for United as he has FIFA World Cup and a couple of Bundesliga titles to his name. All these are very prestigious haul indeed by the German.
Today, we will focus on the transfer rumour about Sergio Ramos in the Manchester United. The English side are trying to find the best of the world, so that they can find a suitable place in the next season premier league.
Manchester United are very much eager to capture Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos. Quite clearly, they have definite reasons behind the decision. In this season of EPL, Manchester United is moving very cautiously, with some selective transfers during this summer.
On the other hand, Sergio Ramos, who is the member of Spanish team in their Golden Age, dominating the international scene for half a decade, winning back to back European Championships in 2008 and 2012 and the country’s first 2010 FIFA World cup. Ramos has not done too badly with his club, Real Madrid either. Since his signing in 2005 from Sevilla, the midfielder won three La Liga titles for the Real Madrid. He also added two Copa del Rey titles and the 2013/14 Champions League-the precious La Decima that Real Madrid cherished for long.
Sergio Ramos has been at the top of his game for a long period of time. He spent a significant portion of his career as a right-back, that is where he started in 2008 European Championship and 2010 FIFA World Cup finals. Later in his career, he made a permanent switch to play as a centre-half. At Real, he played a long time alongside Pepe and their partnership gifted the football Dark arts , as well as just plain gifted. They have been regarded as one of the massive threats in Real’s defence to any other teams in the world.
Sergio Ramos valuation at Manchester:
The first thing Ramos would bring to Manchester United is his elite level of experience. The Ramos transfer would be an expensive one for the United, as far as £260,000 per week. It is truly an astronomical amount of money for a centre-half. According to Manchester evening news, it is reported that the Sergio Ramos deal will be worth around £53 million, which includes David de Gea too. The amount equates to in financial terms depends on the two clubs’ valuation of De Gea. It would be a huge money for Gea, a player with the prime of his career in front of him. And for 29-year-old Sergio Ramos, the amount is just a good fortune for him indeed.
However, Manchester United aren’t looking for a player with potential who could be sold on somewhere down the line. What they currently need, more than anything else, is an experienced leader in the midst of the field. It is no one but, Sergio Ramos they are targeting. There are plenty of potentials, like Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Paddy McNair. They may have plenty of football under their belts, but neither has anything close to the experience of Sergio Ramos in leading the back line of squad.
Sergio Ramos may be an excellent leader in the centre-half, but come without a cost. In 2014, Sergio Ramos broke Real Madrid’s all-time record of red-cards with 19. Likewise , the moon has a darker side, the good has certainly outweighed the bad for Ramos. While some Manchester United fans expressed their displeasure to call Ramos into the old Trafford, the former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher defended Ramos saying,
“ I get a hurt by the criticism Ramos gets. This fella has won everything, he plays one of the best clubs in the world and one of the best international sides we’ve ever seen.”
Sergio Ramos has moments of madness and gets intensely emotional during the games. It has been a regular problem for him. But, let’s not forget it’s a problem for Wayne Rooney in the field as well. Sergio Ramos is still the most frequent fouler in the Real Madrid side . In the 2014/15 season of La Liga, he averaged 1.6 fouls per game, which made him one of the devastating defenders in the world. Those performance would be expected at Manchester United, though Ramos would had to settle for the 2nd place behind Marouane Fellaini, who averaged 2.3 fouls per EPL game.
Truly, United’s back line could use an additional aggression in presence of Sergio Ramos. While he walks the line and frequently oversteps, there is a void place in a defensive setup for someone who will be prepared to make his presence felt by the strikers. Ramos knows, they are in for a battle. Ramos is indeed a hard working player. He always enjoys the physical challenge with the strikers. He is a true nightmare to any of the strikers in the world.
Sergio Ramos is player, who really thinks about the game very well. He can define strategies according to the nature of strikers. It is expected that, Louis Van Gaal has already made some research on Ramos’s positional intelligence and his defensive skills. Ramos is a leader, the quickest in the field and the best physically fitted athlete. All these qualities that Ramos possesses, are required for the United right now.
Sergio Ramos may be a hot-headed lad sometimes for his own good, he has also demonstrated a phenomenal capacity for coolness under immense pressure. In Euro Semi-final 2012, Spanish team needed a win in penalty shootout to get past Portugal. The responsibility implied on Sergio Ramos, who failed in a decisive penalty for Real Madrid against Bayern in the Champions League semi-final, few months earlier. Just imagine the pressure Ramos took that time, and finally he got succeed in taking his team to 2012 Euro final. It was only possible for a first class player like Sergio Ramos.
the eye-catching moments in football seem unbelievable in isolation. But, such remarkable moments weren’t created over night. It took years of hard working of a sportsperson who knows their abilities very well and can trust themselves to execute in difficult situation. Sergio Ramos has proven that many times.
If Manchester United somehow managed to bring Ramos this summer, their chances of winning the next English Premier League title should considerably increase. In fact, that’s what Ramos could bring to the club. The signing will be genuinely exciting for the United fans. Let’s hope, Louis Van Gaal will bring something special with it, that will ensure the premier league title, next season to shut down the critics.

Sterling is undoubtedly a talented player. His high profile transfer to Manchester City drew the massive media attention as the transfer became the 2nd most expensive transfers between EPL clubs.
For Liverpool, he was a gem, kind of goal-machine, who scored 81 goals in 142 games. Torres had passed three-and-a-half successful years at Anfield before stepping at Chelsea. The Los Blancos’ have been claimed optimistic of suspending their impending transfer ban. They are most likely looking for including David De Gea from Manchester United and Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. Real Madrid seems very confident that their transfer ban will be suspended and along with those above two choices they are even interested in Eden Hazard.
Los Blancos rivals Atletico Madrid are also banned from registering new players until the summer of 2017. Though Real are hoping to appeal the sanction in order to at least suspend it to 2017 and not to endure like Barcelona in 2015. Actually they should have their summer plan ready to recruit heavily. Like the way, Barcelona did so well in 2014. That time they brought the likes of Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Claudio Bravo.
Los Blancos’ Rumors on Summer Plans:
Here comes the transfer rumors for the Los Blancos. We all admit that Keylor Navas is undoubtedly an able stopper, but surely a goalkeeper needs to be in their priority list for the upcoming season. The Madrid camp are clearly pinning their hopes on landing De Gea, probably as a long-term replacement for Iker Casillas.
Clearly Real had less need for another goalscorer. The creative playmakers like Lewandowski and Hazard, firmly fit their preferred galactico requirements of marquee signings. May be you just can expect, both are capable of adding further quality to the team.
Lewandowski has scored a staggering 23 goals and four assists this season. On the other hand, Eden Hazard was seen winning the player of the year award with 19 goals and 10 assists for Chelsea.
There not all good news for the Real fans, you should also consider possible outgoings in the summer, though it all depends on whether they are able push back the transfer ban. We all know, Zinedine Zidane likes Isco. Yet again he has spoken of inconsistent behavior from isco as a Real Madrid player. So there breathes a mere possibility that either he or James Rodriguez gets sold in the summer.
Owing to injury, James has just made 13 appearances for Los Blancos under Zidane’s predecessor Rafa Benitez. Despite featuring for just 770 minutes, the Colombian has scored three times and assisted six. Yes of course, Isco can create such contrast here with his 22 appearances in which he has also been concrete with three goals and nine assists. For now a time, Zidane expects the two players to be used interchangeably this season.
May be this situation is not that good for James. So definitely he could seek a move away from the Spanish giant club. Again we need to consider these all topics just boils down to their transfer situation, which could prove difficult anyway. None of these players may not arrive at or depart the Bernabeu in the summer, who knows!
In the past, Barcelona were able to recruit Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal while banned. They agreed to wait half a season in order to register. But probably you must not expect the likes of De Gea, Lewandowski and Hazard to accept so. And definitely Real won’t allow any players of James’ or Isco’s quality to leave the camp, while they can’t make immediate replacements.
